Rennie Mau is the 2024 recipient of two UCC-related scholarships
Kahu Rennie Mau is the 2024 recipient of both the “Make a Difference! Doc Award” and the “Adrienne M. and Charles Shelby Rooks Fellowship for Doctoral Students”.
Rennie is in his fourth year of the PhD Global Contextual Theology program with Claremont School of Theology and Chang Chung Christian University (Taiwan). Recently he received his Pasifika Philosophies Scholar certificate from Pacific Theological College (Suva, Fiji). Semi-retired he is the part-time pastor at Ewa Community Church and teaches as an adjunct professor at several local colleges. He is an academic tutor with the Vancouver School of Theology and the present Hawaii PAAM moderator.
Both UCC-related scholarships are designed to encourage academic excellence and teaching effectiveness among doctoral students, with an end goal of preparing them for teaching positions within UCC seminaries. The Adrienne M. and Charles Shelby Rooks Fellowship for Doctoral Students Supports underrepresented racial/ethnic groups pursuing doctoral degrees in religious studies in academic excellence, teaching effectiveness, and commitment to the UCC.
