HCUCC Disaster Ministries Helps Many in Need

Over the past two Saturdays, HCUCC Disaster Ministries held two food and face-mask distribution events on O‘ahu: 9 churches received donations that assisted 343 families and 953 family members.

Rennie Mau, Kahu of Ewa Community Church, provided cotton face masks and hand sanitizers for every family. A limited amount of ‘ulu was given to those who picked up the food bags. The student LEO Club from Kaiser High School and Lions Clubs from Manoa, Koko Head, Hawai'i Kai and Cyber packed over 600 bags of canned goods for distribution.

The next food distribution is planned for Saturday, December 12. If there are churches that have members in need of food, please contact Rennie Mau at kahumau@gmail.com by Monday December 7. Please provide each head of family's full name and how many are in the family.

HCUCC Disaster Ministries will be closing out the UCC COVID-19 grant next month; if there are any churches that need assistance regarding COVID mitigation, contact Danny Tengan at dstengan@gmail.com by the end of November.
