The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches gathered in fellowship and faith for our Fall Hālāwai on October 24–25, 2025, under this year’s inspiring theme: “The Best Is Yet to Come.” Hosted by Ewa Community Church on the island of Oʻahu, the event brought together 17 churches and 3 partnerships, 36 delegates reaching quorum and carrying forward the work and spirit of our ʻohana in Christ.

The first day opened with our business sessions, where important updates and motions were prayerfully discussed and completed. To lighten the spirit, attendees enjoyed a round of Trivia Games that filled the room with laughter, teamwork, and joy—a wonderful reminder that fellowship is one of God’s greatest gifts.

On Friday, October 24th, AHEC convened an Ecclesiastical Council for Kahu Melveen Kaupiko of Hauʻoli Kamanaʻo Church in Miloliʻi, Hawaiʻi Island. The council voted unanimously in favor of her ordination—a moment of deep joy and celebration! Congratulations, Kahu Melveen! We look forward to the blessings that God will bestow upon you and your hale pule.

The following day, Saturday, October 25th, two installation services were held at Ewa Community Church: James Kimo McElmurry and Kahu Hope (Jocelyn Mokihana) Powers were officially installed, marking another milestone of faith and service within our Association. What a maikaʻi loa occasion it was to witness the movement of God among us!

We extend our heartfelt mahalo to Kahu Rennie Mau and the entire ʻohana of Ewa Community Church for their onolicious food, warm hospitality, and gracious spirit throughout the weekend. The fellowship was truly blessed, and God’s presence was felt in every moment shared.

As we reflect on this Fall Hālāwai, we are reminded that God’s plans for our Association are still unfolding — “The Best Is Yet to Come.”
