Dear Hawai‘i Conference ‘ohana,

At the 2025 ‘Aha Mākua last year, there was a moment when the Spirit of God stirred among us, and those gathered could respond with an emphatic “yes” to Scripture’s question: “Behold, I am doing a new thing—do you not perceive it?” That moment came when thirty youth, after spending several days together in the Kōke‘e cabins, joined our gathering with song, joy, and renewed hope for the Church.
These youth and their adult leaders were participating in a Conference-wide youth event. Together in sacred space, they explored what it means to be faithful followers of Jesus, how the Church lives out its covenant calling, and how relationships across our islands strengthen our shared ministry. This was the second consecutive year of hosting such a gathering. In this post-COVID season, reconnecting with one another and reinvigorating both our congregations and the faith of our youth is more important than ever.
This year, we will once again gather for a Conference youth event held alongside the ‘Aha Pae‘āina. We anticipate welcoming close to 70 youth and adult leaders at Camp Mokulē‘ia beginning on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. They will then join the ‘Aha Mākua from Friday evening through Saturday, June 13. We again trust that the Spirit will move among us, renewing our covenant life and strengthening our shared ministry.
To ensure this experience is accessible to all youth, the event is highly subsidized. The cost per participant is only $100, which includes airfare for neighbor island participants, meals, three nights at camp, program supplies and activities, and registration for the ‘Aha Mākua. As a planning team, we are committed to ensuring that cost is never a barrier to participation.

We invite you (as individuals, churches, Associations, etc.) to partner with us in one or more of the following ways:
Consider a financial gift of $50–$1,000 to the Hawai‘i Conference to help offset the subsidized cost of the event.
Gifts may be made payable to HCUCC and sent to the Conference Office, Attn: Youth Event
700 Bishop Street, Suite 825, Honolulu, HI, United States, 96813
Promote this event within your congregations and encourage youth participation. There are still spots available as of 3/23/26.

Consider offering registration scholarships for youth from your local church or Association.
Pray for our planning team, the adult leaders who will accompany the youth, and the young people who will gather.
We are grateful for our shared ministry, for the stirring of the Spirit among us, and for the faith of our young people—who are not only the future of the Church, but already offering faithful and inspiring leadership today.
In Christ,
Youth Event Planning Team
