Haili Congregational Church kicks off 200th anniversary celebration

Contributed by Lorna Bufil

Haili Congregational Church will be celebrating its 200th anniversary in May of 2024!

We have been in prayer and preparation for several months now and we are kicking off our celebration on Sunday, June 25, 2023. The sanctuary doors will be draped with ti-leaf lei made from leaves from our member's home signifying our lives entwined with God’s love and together we worship in unity. In addition to delivering the sermon, Kahu Hope Daniel Kawaha will perform a blessing of the church and a rededication of members and friends. The day would not be complete without a good meal, so a stew luncheon will follow.

Friday, June 30, 2023, 5:30-7:00 p.m., Ku‘ulei Hughes-Okada and Scott De Sa will lead a workshop in floral arranging. Reservation is advised. Please call the church office at 808-935-4847 to reserve your seat.

Dates for ALL the activities have not yet been finalized, but we plan to keep you informed via the Coconut Wireless, the Haili Congregational Church Facebook page, and website hailichurch.org.

We hope to see you at a gathering or two so we can fellowship together. We pray that all the activities and gatherings we plan will reveal the love of God and reflect his grace.
