Lani Kamaha'o

 E komo mai - Welcome
to Lani Kamaha`o

Since 1998, Lani Kamaha`o has been welcoming campers of all ages. The camp is in Hau`ula on the east side of O`ahu, about an hour’s drive from Honolulu. Situated on 87 acres of lush green land in beautiful Makao Valley, it’s just a short walk from pristine beaches of the Pacific Ocean.
We welcome all persons without regard to age, race, sex, sexual orientation, socio-economic position, handicap or denominational affiliation.
It’s real camping! By design, accommodations at Lani Kamahao are basic, intended to steer one’s focus to God’s breathtaking creation with which we are surrounded in Hawai`i.

About Us

Lani Kamaha`o is a ministry of the O`ahu Association under the Hawai`i Conference United Church of Christ(UCC). The UCC is an inclusive church and believes that God loves all people everywhere.

The camp at Lani Kamaha`o welcomes all churches, schools, and nonprofit community organizations. It’s particular interest is in helping young or at-risk children and teens, many of whom have never been camping before.

At Lani Kamaha`o, our mission is to nurture spiritual transformation by affirming our relationship to God’s earth and each other. We provide close-to-nature experiences for each camper and offer programs focused on Biblical principles of caring for our earth and others as we care for ourselves.

Programs

Each program is customized to the age, physical abilities, and desired outcomes for your group. We offer:
An outdoor experience in which nature is our partner
in the process of spiritual transformation and renewal.

    First-hand opportunities to practice cooperation,
        tolerance, patience, endurance and trust.
Hawaiian history, culture, and practices related to
        the land and sea.
Hands-on education about Hawaiian plants and ocean life.
Scripture-based programs are available upon request.

Outdoors 101

Create your own Environmental Education Camp by selecting from the components designed to help children and teens explore and experiment in the outdoors.

Adventure Challenge Course
Adventure is defined as the exploration of situations with unknown outcomes in unfamiliar settings. Campers are challenged with hands-on team building games and activities that promote cooperation, tolerance, endurance, compromise, patience and an atmosphere where the sharing of ideas, information and experience are essential to the successful completion of each event. Each program is customized to meet the age, physical abilities, and desired learning outcomes of your group.

Cooperative Living Skills Camp
This is a three-day “complete” camping experience, which incorporates segments from the Adventure Challenge course and other activities. It combines team building, social skills, and recreation in a non-threatening and fun learning experience for children and youth. Each program is customized to the group.
