About Us
The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches consist of twelve(12) Board of Directors, its member churches and Nā Kahu.
Board of Directors
The management of the business and affairs of this Association and the control and distribution of its property shall be vested in the Board of Directors, which shall consist of such number of directors as shall be fixed by the Bylaws of this Association but in no event less than three (3). Subject to such limit, the members may increase or decrease the number of directors at any Annual Meeting or at any other meeting properly called for purpose. At least one director shall be a resident of the State of Hawai‘i. The Directors shall be qualified, nominated, elected, and appointed as provided in the Bylaws. Each director of this Association shall serve until his or her successor is duly elected.

History
The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches was constituted by By-law approval in June 1994. By October 1994, 18 Churches from the Islands of Hawai‘i, Maui and O‘ahu joined Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches. The State Sunday School Association, the Hawaii Ecumenical Coalition and the Pacific Asian American Ministries included as partnership ministries.
Preface

And whether one member suffers, all the member suffer with it; or one member is honored all the members rejoice with it. Purpose
The purpose of this Association shall be:
Statement of Faith and Mission
This Association, as part of the Hawai‘i Conference, United Church of Christ, believes and affirms as its faith and mission:

To declare that god the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as revealed in the Bible, shall be central in all of the functions of the Churches in this Association.

To proclaim the Realm of God through the aloha and lokahi of the Spirit working within us, so that we may develop a growing ‘ohana that is both sensitive to the needs of others and to our own faith, heritage, and feelings.

To serve and strengthen our churches so we may have a strong voice to make a difference as advocates in word and deed for the needs of our communities and the world.
To share God’s aloha made known to us in Jesus Christ through the weaving of our Hawaiian heritage and Christian faith within our churches and communities and the world in which we live.
Church & Ministry Committee
The Church & Ministry Committee consist of seven (7) members who oversee and prepare for student in-care status, ordinations, installations, ecclesiatical councils and reviews.
The Committee on the Church and Ministry through development of programs for professional growth, continuting education, personal support and denominational relationships, shall be resposible for matters relating to support of the Kahu in the Association and recruitment and nurturing of students of Hawaiian ancesrty interested in entering the ministry, as defined in Section 1.2.2 hereof

Church Funding Program
Information about Nā Lima Ho‘ike “E”:

Nā Lima Ho‘ike “E”: Church program need requests must be in one or more of the following categories to be considered: Evangelism, Education, Enhancement, Evolution, and Environment.

Examples of Funding: Program needs might include bibles, books for Sunday School (“Evangelism”), a youth camp (“Education”), guest speakers (“Enhancement”), kahu training programs (“Evolution”), or assessing church property needs (“Environment”). It is hoped that the local churches will also be creative in establishing new programs that will support and expand the spiritual life of the church.

Kaumakapili Church 37th Annual Benefit Luau
Kaumakapili Church 37th Annual Luau "Aloha Kekahi I Kekahi (Love One Another)" will be on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 766 North King Street. The luau dinner, complete with authentic Hawaiian entertainment and traditional luau fare, is hosted at 5pm and is all-you-can-eat for $25. Take-out, luau meals are available from 10am to 5pm for $15. Pick-up is located on Kanoa Street (behind the church) at Palama Street. Learn Wall Building
Through August, Paepae o He'eia will offer monthly workshops deicated to the Hawaiiah dry-stack method of wall-building. The Saturday workshops run from 7:45 - 2:30 pm and cost $20.00, which includes a light breakfast, heavy lunch, T-shirt and binder of related readings and materials. The workshops, limited to 20 students, will be held: June 28, at He'eia Fishpond and Waipao uplands, lo'i dry-stack method. July 19, at the fishpond, loko i'a method. Aug. 16, at the fishpond, loko i'a method.

Niuolahiki Distance Learning Program
