Preface
…But God tempered the body together, having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care for one another. And whether one member suffers, all the member suffer with it; or one member is honored all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”(1 Corinthians 12:24b-27)

In Care Student

Aloha, my name is Manu Naeole. I am a member of Kawaiaha’o Church. Recently I, along with my leaders and friends, have sensed that God is calling me into a different career path. I have taken the first step by enrolling into a seminary to work towards an M.Div degree.
I started at Fuller Theological Seminary at the end of September 2008. School has been an adjustment because it has been a while since I have been a full time student, but I think I’m starting to get a handle on it. I make it through each day because there are people; who are my “cloud of witnesses” (Heb. 12:1).
If you have any questions or would like to know more specific details please feel free to contact me through e-mail at arthurnaeole@fuller.edu. I pray for God to work himself in and through Hawaii.
Me Ke Aloha Pumehana,
Manu Naeole
Church Funding Program
AHEC Awards Over $20,000 in Grants
The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches is pleased to announce that the Na Lima Ho‘ike “E” grant program has awarded 16 grants totaling $20,450 in the first eight months of the fiscal year which began July 1, 2009. (By comparison, the grant program awarded 13 grants in the first eight months of the prior year.)
There have been ten grants to help churches with travel and registration costs, making it possible for their delegates to attend the Aha Halawai and for youth to attend the Hawaii Conference UCC Fall Camp and the Christian Endeavor Leadership Training Program.
A grant was given to help a church continue a community Christian campout program which attracts 60-70 youth each year. Three grants provided churches with the funds to celebrate their presence in the communities they serve.
In addition, a grant will provide funds needed to continue a Hawaiian language program held at a local church.
For more information on grants available to Hawaiian churches, please contact the office of the Papa Makua. Application forms and information are also available on the AHEC website.
Frank Jahrling, Chairperson
